LandShark’s Cozy Theater
Who doesn’t love a good looking home theater? It’s not uncommon for me to spend over an hour looking for ideas that I want to include in my future home theater. Right now, all I can do is plan. When the money comes, I’ll know exactly what to do.
One of the more impressive setups I have seen is LandShark’s “Cozy Theater.” It’s a DIY home theater with simplicity and aesthetic beauty in mind.
The setup consists of:
- HTPC with Mediaportal
- PlayStation 3
- Xbox 360
- Wii Console with Mario Kart Wii Bundle – Black
- Panamax Power Conditioner
- Epson HomeCinema 1080UB Projector
- Elite Screens R100WH1 ezFrame Fixed Projection Screen (100″ 16:9 AR)(CineWhite)
- Yamaha RX-V1800BL Receiver
- Definitive Technology Speakers
Mediaportal is a great option to use as the primary media-viewing software for your HTPC. As you can see, media is scraped for movie posters, covers, plots, etc. Must be nice to use it on a 100″ screen in high definition!
Not only does LandShark have an awesome setup in his home theater room, but he also has some slick setups in his living room and bedroom. One day, I would like to have a similar setup where all my media is stored in one location but can be accessed from HTPC’s setup strategically throughout my home.

Other interesting things about this home theater setup are the default movie intro and the marquee display he had made for this theater. Though subtle details, they add to the home theater experience by giving an authentic feel to the home theater room. Great job, LandShark!
