As an avid sports fan, the biggest challenge I’ve had with ditching cable is watching live sports events. Fortunately, there are ways to watch live sports without cable. There are many websites that stream live sports events. Usually, the video quality is subpar, but for me, it’s better than paying at least $30 a month for 1 or 2 channels. Sometimes, though, live streams in really good quality. Here is a list of sites where you can find just about any live sports event.
ATDHE is my go-to site. ATDHE always has multiple links to the sporting events I want to watch. The video quality is usually decent. I highly recommend this site for watching live sports games from the NBA, NFL, and MLB.
Sportlemon.tv is a great site for finding events from any sport. I mainly use it to catch NBA games. For every game, there are usually 3-5 links. I usually open all of them and eliminate them one by one until I arrive at the one with the best quality.
With Veetle, it’s hit and miss. Sometimes, I’ll find an HD stream of a game that is being nationally televised on ESPN or TNT. Other times, I won’t be able to find anything. To watch streams on this website, you have to download a plug-in. This is usually a last resort for me because of its inconsistency, but sometimes it saves the day.
Every night, SlipstreamTV features certain sporting events. You can also catch ESPN here. On the main page, there is a schedule with all the sporting events available to watch. It’s a decent site for catching professional sports leagues.
ESPN3 is a great service and completely legitimate, but your ISP has to provide it. I don’t have it at my apartment, but I’ve used it before and there is usually a great selection of events to choose from, including collegiate sports. If your ISP gives you access to ESPN3, make sure to take advantage of it!
So there you have it. I’m sure there are other sites that you can use to watch live sporting events, but these are the sites that I have consistently found reliable. Although the legality of these sites is questionable, as far as I know, as long as you don’t do the actual streaming, it’s OK. If you have anything to say or other sites that are worth mentioning, let us know in the comments!
